Hello,
Here's who I am & what I do
My name is Mariam Al-Hadeethi and I am a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) Biology program at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Since graduation, I have gained a plethora of experience in healthcare, and along with this experience an insight into the shortcomings of the healthcare system as it operates today. Throughout my professional career, I hope to contribute to the advancement of the healthcare system for all Canadians.
My Story
Why Healthcare? My passion for advocacy and health equity.
Get to Know Me
As a first-generation immigrant to Canada, much of my childhood involved supporting my family through the strenous process of integrating into a new society. At a very young age, I began to naturally take on an advocacy role, as I was the first in my family to become fluent in the language. While this inevitably presented many challenges, it also drastically shaped my worldview. These experiences largely contributed to my passion towards topics of health equity and advocacy, as I was able to recognize first-hand the importance of adopting an intersectional approach in assessing healthcare outcomes. Throughout my professional career, I hope to contribute to the public health sector in ways that are productive to all. To achieve these goals, I hope to pursue a Master's of Public Health within the upcoming year.
